Subject: Brainchild.
Seventh chemo done. 7 fucking more torture sessions to go. Woot! I mostly feel dizzy, but that’s okay. I’ve got something to distract me - a fro-yo/bubble tea shop! No, I’m not eating fro-yo or drinking bubble tea 24/7. I’m actually planning to open my own fro-yo/bubble tea shop in Williamstown. Well, I’ll technically be a “partner;” I’m trying to convince my dad to finance my new project.
I think it’ll be a good idea, because honestly…where can you find a good place for snacks at Williamstown? Or a place to just chill? I guess you can go to Tunnel City (although I didn’t have enough time to visit it when I was there), but I’m not really interested in pastries or coffee. I want fro-yo. Or bubble tea. (Which are, in my opinion, socal food culture at its best.) I’m also thinking about offering cheesecake and other desserts. Or maybe soups for the winter? Soups might be a good idea, because I hated the soups that were offered in the dining halls. They were never hot enough and were really salty. Or perhaps we could offer one entree per day, and rotate it throughout the week?
But most importantly, I just want it to be a place to hang out at. Atmosphere is key. Somewhere casual and inexpensive, with a cozy atmosphere for chatting and good lighting for studying. Kind of like Starbucks, but with a Pinkberry concept and approach. It’ll open late and close late (10 PM?). And best of all, it’ll be something like a pet cafe. Dogs will be welcome - I’m thinking of getting a golden doodle puppie myself and letting it be the unofficial “host” of the cafe.
Anyways, those are the basic details. I think I’ve found a location, and also the food and equipment suppliers (which also happen to be the same ones that Red Mango+Yogurtland uses). I’ve also figured out most of the legal mess that comes with setting up a new business. Plus, I’ve designed the store’s look and researched what type of furniture I want. Now…I just need a financial investor to get the ball rolling. And I need to do more market research. I’m hoping people like fro-yo enough to eat it in the winter…and if they don’t, I’ll just need to find another product to offer so that the menu will be appealing at all times in the year.
My dad just told me that he’ll visit Williamstown. In March. To see the location I suggested. I’m EXCITED. So maybe he does see potential in this idea. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed…
However, if this does work out…and I get my golden doodle puppy, I’m definitely going to name it [the dog] Golden Noodle, or Noodle for short because my mom keeps on calling the breed Golden Noodle. >:( I’m not sure where she got that idea…but she also has the habit of feminizing my guy friends’ names. (Ex: Mundy —> Mandy).
I don’t want the Porsche. Can I please use the money [intended for the Porsche] to pay the downpayment on the house/shop I found? And then, maybe in the future when the business becomes a success, I’ll buy my own Porsche instead.
ACK. I really, really, really, really, really hope my Dad will back me up on this one.
